I have used Nokia Mobile Internet toolkit 4.1 to create a forward-locked DRM message file. The file contains a 3gp video. I send this DRM message file to Nokia 3230 & Nokia N72 Via Bluetooth. DRM message file is received in to Inbox.
When i open the DRM Message file, real player is launched to play the 3gp video. But it displays an error message, "Unable to play the media clip".
This DRM Message file works perfectly on SONY ERICSSON phones. But not on nokia phones ????
Can some body help me on this issue ?
DRM comes from Digital Rights Management. No wonder you can't play the file in Real Player, since is forward protected. Perhaps SE phones in which you tried to play the files don't have DRM capability.
it is latest sony erricson phone, w700i. it is drm compatible. since the file is drm forward locked, i am able to play the video but can't forward the video. it is working as per the drm forward locking specifications.
what is the trouble with nokia handsets ?
Perhaps the problem is in the video codec used in the file. Although .3gp files can be played in Real Player, only h.263 video codec is suported for 3gpp. The N70 is OMA DRM 1.0, like SE W700.
Now, we have shot the video using nokia 3230 phone itself. Transferred the video to pc. DRM forward locked the video using Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit 4.1. Then we sent back the DRM wrapped video to phone.
Still it flags the same error as it was doing earlier.
now their should not be any problem with the video codec as it was shot with the phone itself.
Where does the problem lie ?
I am caught up with this problem from last seven days.
plz. help.
I'm afraid I can't help you more than that. Maybe somebody with some more knowledge about it can help you.
