why are they illegal?????
I've found them on some non warez sites
if you think that I've done some warez postings feel free to close the post
......don't tell me that you haven't played or have installed gb roms

I had the original gameboy rom. is it still illegal to download from a warez site and play it on my 7650?

They might own the original games? Doesn't that make it legal? Does for every other emulator I know about..

It's not like you'll go to jail or something....
it's like a burned(copied) cd ....and I don't belive that Rafe or Ewan-FreEPOC ar some of our admins and rewievers arn't listening some burn cd's at home nin their cd players

I believe you are correct. Goes for cd's as well, you are entitled to create one copy for personal use.

I've created this post to see wich roms have people played and if so how did they managed to play gbc roms cuz I'm not able to play 'em even with 2080 kb of free memory (always get the low mem warning)
and not for selling or advertising purposes.

I really wish HTML had an < irony > tag...

Now I'm not admitting anything as to what I may or may not have on CD-R at home, but the area of owning ROMS is grey EVEN if you have the original. Nintendo have stated that they consider that you aren't allowed to make a copy of any Cart, and the EU Copyright Directive backs Nintendo here, not you the user. You need to write to your country's Data Commisioner and ask permission to make a copy for backup purposes, once the law is ratified in your country.

What I was commenting on is not that they are/could be/who cares if they are illegal, but the fact people are standing up and saying "I HAVE THIS!!!," which is manna from heavan for copyright lawyers...

(b) No, you write to the Data Comissionner. Duh.
