After updating and debranding to the new firmware, I restored from memory card backup.
I dont think its done anything but people are saying it can cause problems?
Should I do anything about it?

I restored my Orange debranded from backup. I found that it kept 'installing' every time I switched it on, then refusing to install unsuitable apps without an option to override. Also I lost the ability to uninstall some themes I had put on before the backup. The solution I found was to go in to app manager and manually install the apps marked as uninstalled. Don't worry that they're mis-named i.e. a00000C.sis etc. When you start the installation it will tell you what it really is. Even then I found I had 2 apps that simply wouldn't reinstall, so I deleted them from app manager and sent the original sis to my phone again.
Also you can clear out the backup altogether by connecting your phone to PC in mass storage and deleting the Backup folder from the MMC.
I had to reinstall all of my themes, sending the sis files over bluetooth to my phone again. Now I can remove them in app manager and the 2 themes that were broken by the update work fine again.
Also I noticed I now have 2 versions of each of my connection settings (2xorangeinternet, 2xorange mms etc). I think the N95 has a feature whereby it can detect your network and set itself to the appropriate settings. I did this before backing up, so my backup added a second set of settings. I can't be bothered to delete them but it all works fine anyway...
I've just done the software update to an Orange branded phone and restored the memory card backup without any problems what so ever. I suspect that this is prominantly because i have not yet added any additional themes or software as the phone is only 4 days old.
