Don't take 'hacking' word on this topic as it is 😃
Have anybody tried qfileman.sys? I think it's a very good program, you can go deep into all things inside your P800.
Seems that you can customize almost everything in it (and loose your warranty!). Up to changing pictures of all icons!
So, have anyone find a really good way to use it?
When you say 'changing icons' do you mean the ones used on the user interface of the P800.
If so, surely all these files are kept on ROM, so you can't delete/modify any of them, much like the 7650.
I would be scared of deleteing all the system files if I could.
How many 'drives' do you have?...I'm guessing 4, Flash, RAM, ROM, and Memory Card.
Yep! 4, A (ROM drive), C (RAM), D (MStick) and Z (ROM drive).
the one on A or Z can't be changed cause their ROM and ... even so if I could I didn't dare either, but I deleted some of the leftovers from uninstalled progz in C and D. At first, it denied, but after the read only unticked (in attribute) flag, it allowed (maybe also because its on RAM and MS).
Anyway, One thing that I learned from it that seems this symbian 7 has one thing similar like MS Windows, some of leftovers found from uninstalled progz, I after I deleted it, got about 50-60k more.
Sorry, forgot to login on above post 😮ops:
Remember that the bits left over after an unistall is down to sloppy definition of the unistall script not the OS - at least for Symbian anyway.
