Optimum TVout framerate?

I've converted a couple of movies to MP4 for playback on the N95. The image quality is excellent and playback is silky smooth on the n95 itself. however, when I playback on the via the TV out on a regular TV (Sony Triniton) I seem to get a slight jerkiness on the TV.

The movies are approx 400x240 with a bitrate of 1024kb/s and the framerate set to that of the source material. Any ideas? Are there optimum framerate/settings for TV out display?

you could be right here, and I'll give it a go. however the source material itself only has 250-280 lines so this could make the files unnecessarily large. They are already 800MB at the moment (for a movie)!

also, the image quality itself is not *too* bad, it's just the frame refresh that seems a touch jerky - not unwatchable, but noticable.
