Emergency Numbers

Hey guys, wondering if someone can help me.

I've recently started locking my phone after 30 mins so no one can use it, but in case of emergencies I can't ring 999 without unlocking the phone. Can ring 911 and 112, but I'm in the UK so it's not a lot of use.

Is there anyway to change the emergency numbers so my phone recognises 999 as a SOS No.?

Bust

Emergency numbers in the UK now include 999, 112 and 101 is now used as a non-emergency number for police and local authorities in several areas in England and Wales, and will be extended to cover all of England and Wales by 2008. However, some other numbers are sometimes classed as "emergency": 0800 111 999 for gas leaks, 08 45 46 47 for NHS Direct etc.

My phone doesn't recognise these though. It won't let me enter 999 when in locked mode, only 911 and 112
