A month or so ago I got a Nokia 6680, which I'm fairly happy with if it weren't for this particular peculiarity: out of the blue (at least it seems) it nearly shuts itself off - the screen shows "Nokia" and then fairly quickly it turns back on completely. Any explanation as to why this is happening?

I have never heard of something like that... maybe it is just a connection problem with the battery or something.
Did it get wet or were you in a humid place? water might cause this weird problems. If so you will have to open it up and clean it with alcohol.
Whenever I have problems I can't fix myself I usually go to a great tech support site that help me deal with my problem.
