Is the N95 capable of recharging when it is connected to a laptop using USB cable that is used with the Nokia PC Sync software, or do I need a Nokia USB cable that is specific for recharging?

You need a seperate charger, and from my experience (using a 3rd party usb charger) the current from a USB port is a bit flakey meaning the phone will give the "not charging" message from time to time.
At work I've resorted to getting a second mains charger for this reaosn.
I use a USB charger with mine (bought from ebay) and it works fine alongside the usb data cable.

Yeah, it's weird. not sure mine doesn't work properly.
Would it be possible to get a cable that splits to connect to both USB and charging ports?
I havent seen any but dont see any reason why this wouldnt be possible.
