Simple GPS Tracker

Hi

Does anyone know of a simple GPS tracker that as well as logging lat/lon also records the date and time of the position, that can then be exported as a KML file?

SportsTracker does a nice job of logging coordinates, but does not include the date and time :frown:

I want to be able to retrospectively GPS tag photos taken on my digital camera, using the date and time to know where the photo was taken. Although I can use Shozu on the N95, I will be taking far more photos with a proper camera 😊

Thanks.

I second that. I am after exactly the same thing - an app which logs GPS data and date and time. Surely it can't be that hard?!

I'm sure it's not hard, but wouldn't that require the GPS to be constantly in use? Your battery would drain in no time!

It certainly would, however, I'm using a BT GPS device and most of the time I'm on my motorbike where I've installed a phone charger.

Edit: Or this will - I've used it before and its v.good:
AFTrack

AFTrack doesn't use the internal GPS - not sure about the G.E. Companion

Thanks for the links--I've looked at AFTrack but thought it a bit overkill for what I need and in the short time I've got before needing to use it trying to get to grips with it could be a problem 😊

I'll download a trial of the Google Earth companion and see how I get on.

Thanks.

Just tried this, but doesn't work on 3rd Edition S60 :frown:

Might have to give AFTrack another go...

How you thinking of tagging the location data? say if you can get a gps log (with time stamped) onto the photo's exif? or manually?
I am currently using gps-cs1 and it be good if there's an application to do the same on n95

Using Google Picasso to add the lat/lon to the exif data; this is done manually. I would only be using the N95 to record the GPS data, not take photos with it.

If you want to automatically GPS tag photos on the N95, try using Shozu--it also works well with Flickr, but you don't have to do this.
