My question is: is it possible to use the LED flash as a LED torch? I had a k750i before the N95 and the torch feature was invaluable.
Thank you.

using my alternative - which is to use the whole LCD screen - a white image (or some other colour if you want.
Others mention that the torch app (admittedly written for other symbian phones) only shows the red led .. hence my suggestion. 😊

It's a great question and one that I've shouted from the rooftops before. But.... again....
C++ developers out there - PLEASE - SOMEONE - get inside the OS/APIs and write a tiny little (white) LED torch application! It would sell like hotcakes.
I agree. I have Ntorch on my N95 but it only lights up orange. What I tend to do is slide the camera open and lightly press the capture button which brings on the white led flash. I've done this in the cinema and then just slide the camera closed to turn off the flash and lock the keypad.
Would be a darn sight easier to have a dedicated app though!
just take a step back and look at what your asking...
you want to turn a 500 multimedia mobile handset into a 1.50 torch

If N95 can have more capabilities, is better for everyone 😃
