Hi,
Can anyone recommend a car mount/holder/cradle for the N95. There seems to be 100s on eBay but would be helpful to hear from someone who has tried one. Links or otherwise would be great......
Thanks😊

Hi deluxe99,
I can generally recommend the Brodit holders and ProClips. They are quite famous 😊 Try w*w.brodit.c*m .

I purchased the 'official' one from eBay but found it was a 'screw' into the dashboard type, I then had to purchase the 'sucker' attachment and both ended up costing me close to £30!
Be wary of most 'universal' ones cos they generally clip around the sides and that pushes on the gallery button which is very annoying if you want to keep the phone unlocked (using it for sat nav etc).
I got my Brodit one today .. N95 fits like a charm 😃
I got mine from these guys ... only paid regular p&p yet it turned up the next day ! Very impressed ! 😃
I like the look of the ProClip / Brodit holders. There seems to be a ProClip specifically for my car too - nice. 😎
But how does the ProClip holder actually attach to the dashboard? The website say the holders come with a tool called a "Gap Opener". 😮 Is this going to damage my car?
Cheers
SL
The way the ProClip fits is individual the each model of vehicle. I wouldn't worry about the 'Gap Opener', sounds like a nice safe way of doing things.
Got my clip from www.dashmount.co.uk (without such a tool) and managed to fit it without doing any damage - this is a good sign since I'm so bad at DIY-type things I could manage to cause my house structural damage whilst doing the dishes.
Another advantage is that once the clip is fitted, when you change your phone you'll only need to change the holder as the fitting to the clip is universal.
I'd highly recommend these holders.
Hi all,
I have recently changed to using PDAir cases which are made of a really nice leather and come in either book or Flip styles and when you buy their Car Mount which attaches to the Windscreen with suction. You get an additional back for the cases that then slide in the car holder so no buttons get pressed and IMO is excellent and effective solution.

I have been using the Halfords universal (sucker, windscreen mounted) one @ 14.99 for about 18 months. Used it with a N80 and an N95 both great. Provides excellent GPS signal lock on N95's internal GPS with the keyboard extended.
Would someone be able to take some pics of how the brodit one looks in the leon and how it actually attaches?
EDIT: thought I was on the Leon forum when I wrote the above! Don't suppose anyone has a new shape leon do they?
Thanks :icon14:

Check out www.brodit.se. It's in Swedish, but it's navigable to the rest of us with a bit of imagination. Find your car model & year in the drop-down lists, then click on the product you want (it doesn't look like it's clickable, but it is). The site then helpfully presents you with installation photographs.
Well, at least it does for my Mazda 3 anyway.

Does for my smart roadster too. Given how non-mainstream my car is and they have a mount for it, I was so impressed I bought one. Has the added benefit of coming with a charging lead.
Just ordered one too from dsldevelopments.

Does it twist round to landscape like that without unscrewing anything? So if i was in the passenger seat and wanted to watch a film etc i could just twist it round?
Yes, it's on a ball swivel.
Nice one cheers!

Fitting was easy. Was a bit alarmed at first when I realised that the ProClip didn't have holes pre-drilled to accept the holder, and that I had to use the self-tapping screws provided. However, I needn't have worried.
Everything is rigid and sturdy, yet I can tilt and swivel in any direction, and open the slider in any direction too. The design of the holder means the side buttons are not interfered with. Great product.
Only minor complaint is that if I'm not careful I bang my knuckles on the stand when I change to first gear. Hopefully I'll get used to this.
