Dear Forum Users,
Anyone have a solution on how to view streaming video from a website when the requirement at the website is WindowsMediaPlayer9 or later ?
Connected to Wlan,
Anyone know about player or plugin for phone browser ?
Thanks in advance,
JM
Try Orb:
http://www.orb.com/
Let me know how you get on with it.
been trying this for ages and cant get it to stream videos, just keep getting an error message saying not enough bandwidth, check network settings.
whats that all about?
Well how fast is your adsl connection?
Do you have a router? Have you forwarded the correct ports on your router - or in Windows firewall? Do you have a software firewall? Have you opened any ports on this?
If you don't know how to do this, then this is probably the source of your problem.
Unfortunately all routers are different - so you will have to read your manual, or search on Google to get specific info on how to port forward on your particular router.
says I have turned of java or old version of flash. Java is on and using flash lite 2.
Anyone got this working ?
Any stream works on my other devices on my Lan.
I really need a client for Win media stream also.
Any wiz out there ?
Thanks,
Jm
It appears that only certain video files designed for mobiles will work.
I myself have had trouble viewing YouTube video when browsing the web with my N95. It seems that the Flash player we have in the Applications folder isn't suitable for watching regular YouTube videos from the net. And if you then click on the "update to latest Flash Player", the Adobe site says it does not support our Symbian platform.
After some research, I have found out that we have to wait for YouTube to launch their "YouTube For mobiles" website. This should then make this compatible for mobile users. Maybe this is similar to your case with watching streaming videos.
i use picostation
But it downloads the Vid first,
Cant find anything that streams.
Orb doesnt currently support the N95 (or some other Nokia phones), it should work in the next release of the server.
I was hoping there would be a WMP or VLC or something similar availiable for the N95 as I think these would currently work with Orb, but it looks like we're stuck with RealPlayer for now?
