What's the shortest length of time you can change your contract on O2? I think it used to be 3 months but I'm not sure now?
I wanna get a decent phone but you mostly have to have a bigger price contract per month. I was thinking of doing this then lowering it after x amount of time.
Anyone?
i think its dependant on the deal you have... i think an 18 month its 6 months, and a 12 month its 3 months. this is of course if we're talkin about the same thing... (when o2 buys your contract and gives you a new one)
keep in mind altho you get a new fone you lose your number every time you do it and cant get your other one because o2 owns the number and that numbers contract... so it might be good for you but itd annoy the hell out of me if my mate kept changin his number every 3 months just because hes greedy ;B
ive had the same number on my fone for about 5 years now
What I mean is that I go into a shop, get a new phone and contract with O2. Put my sim in and never use the contract sim. Only doing it to get a newer phone. Obviously if I start off with a higher priced contract then you get a better deal on the phone price. I'm thinking of a 12 month contract as well.
For example, get an N95 for free with a 50 per month contract then after 3 months ring them up and drop it to 20 or whatever the lowest is these days.
I'm still on the old Genie contract 10 a month and that's what I'd put in it.
aha i think i get you, yeah we were on the same wavelength... i think its 3 months... but at the end of the day go into an o2 shop or speak to them on the phone (probably easier to go into a shop knowin how bloody difficult it is to get sense out the o2 call centers)
3 months sounds good. I think the last time I did this was with Orange and it was 6 months so 3 could be good. Might end up with an N95 after all! Cheers for the info, I'll get down to an O2 shop.
been into phones 4 u today and the salesman was adamant that it's 9 months for a 12 month contract. Anyone else know better?
Found this hidden in the O2 site.
If you are a Consumer Customer, you may not move to a tariff which offers a lower rate monthly subscription within 9 months of connecting to the Network or upgrading. After 9 months, you may only move down one tariff, per month, to the next lower priced tariff to the one you originally connected or upgraded to until the end of your Minimum Period unless you pay us the difference between the monthly subscription on your original tariff and the lower rate tariff we agree that you may move to. Where we agree that you can change tariffs, unless we advise otherwise, your new tariff will commence at the start of your next billing cycle.
