I Can't find a suitable screen protector for my N95

23 replies · 9,515 views · Started 18 May 2007

I just bought a new mobile of N95, but after I looked around the shop nearby, I cant find a screen protector for this model. Although I can buy a sheet & cut it myself, but as the mobile got a corner at top and I think I cant cut it nicely. Anyone who know where can I find this model screen protector?

easiest I think .. I'm surprised you didn't get one with the phone - in the box?

On that note .. what does come in various boxes?

Mine had a screen protector and the leather case - a 1G card .. the usual cables

I got mine from HongKong its an Aussie model.😊

Hi,

Look on eBay. Search for N95 SCREEN and you should find plenty. I got one in UK for 0.99, good quality.

Dez

mine came with no screen protector, nor a memory card, nor a pouch.

All I got was the basics: the phone; charger; usb cable; cd; tv cables; manuals.

That was it. And yes, I suspect that ebay is probably the best place to look for a screen protector.

Regards

I got a Martin Fields one from blueunplugged and its amazing, it fits so easily and i got almost no air bubbles (and the ones I did smoothed out easily). Once its on, you can't tell its there at all! It even came with ones for both cameras and the flash but they were way to fiddly to be bothered with!

I agree. I have the same one, works well and you can even take it off and wash it once in a while and it goes back on fine! I also didn't bother with the small protectors for the cameras.

Screen Guards
😉

That's the screen guard I used and it's excellent quality. :icon14:

I do recommend however, cleaning the grime and grease off your N95 with a cotton bud soaked in Alcohol (both available from your local chemist) otherwise you will end up with air bubbles and marks behind the screen guard.

Many thank you!

ExpertShield Crystal Clear Protective Film (ES-CCPF) consists of 1) a scratch-resistant PET layer and 2) a residue-free Silicone Gel Solution layer. The Silicone Gel Solution uses a patented formula that creates an air vacuum between the bonded substrate (PET film) and any smooth surface.
The successful result of a glass-like finish is dependent on the consistency of the Silicone Gel Solution and its even distribution against the substrate. The process of bonding the Silicone Gel Solution to the PET is inherently difficult and requires a dust-free environment and precision machinery. There are two main processing plants that supply ExpertShield with this process both located in Japan and both adhering to the strictest quality standards.

Next time you can try WriteShield or ExpertShield screen protector, their overall quality are good compare to others in my past experience.

This is a specific question for those who have tried several screen protectors. What have you found to be the best? And why?

See my post from 19/05 in this thread.

The eBay ones are great quality and very cheap, but you need to carefully clean the N95 screen before fitting an adhesive cover to avoid air bubbles, grease and dust getting behind the protective film.

I have had my N95 protected for over 2 months and not a mark on the film so far.

So are the screen covers really easy to remove then? And they don't leave any marks, has any one tried?

I've literally just finished fitting one to my ( newly acquired ) N95 and its ok, just got one tiny air bubble that refuses to shift - did give a good clean beforehand though.Cost a couple of quid off eBay.

In the box, all I got was the basics too - no memory card, no case. I had to haggle for the car charger to be thrown in for free! THis was on an Orange contract ( UK )

I was going to go for a Vodafone contract and AFAIK, you get a 1gb SD card ( with maps pre-loaded ) and also a car charger in the box? Anyway, that contract was more expensive, so didn't bother with it.

I knew I was going to run C-Pilot on it anyway, so have now installed that and have also got a 4gb SDcard.

I removed an adhesive one but it was quite hard (needed long fingernails).

There was no significant residue that I noticed, I cleaned the screen after anyway with some klearscreen type stuff and a lint-free cloth.

I have given up on screen protectors though - just impossible to put on perfectly!

Anyone had any negative experiences removing them? I assume if there was any damage caused it would be visible pretty quickly...

Is the N95 like the other phones like N70 N80 that has a plastic between the LCD and cover or not?😮

Does anyone actually know what the plastic is they use for the N95 LCD screen.

Ive had a fair few phones over the years, and must say I am very impressed with the scratch resilience of N95 LCD. It lives a rather harsh existence in my pocket, with keys and coins and have yet to see a scratch. Previous phones wouldn't last more then a few weeks before I would get scratches.

Just wondering as I am well impressed.... Some friend told me its actually the same plastic they use on the iphone and is as good as glass, with respect to scratches. But take this with a large pinch of salt, as I haven't been able to confirm/verify this.

ut.

ignore my last comment, bloody iphone is glass on top... guess me friend talking sh1t again lol...
