Someone help me connect mobile to pc internet via USB CABLE

2 replies · 63,160 views · Started 18 May 2007

All places it is saying how to connect via the bluetooth dongle. I've USB cable only and unable to connect it to the pc internet. I am not able to make up a direct cable connection also as it is showing only the com1 port which is my dial up port. It is not showing any other port for my 7610.

Please help me don't close the thread saying that it has been posted before - all previous posts are for btooth and none are fro usb cable - helpppp.
I also tried GNUBOX to connect through direct cable - that also doesn;t work

No good way to do that via cable and a 7610.

With 9300, 9300i, 9500 and Eseries phones (like the E70) it is (at least in theory) possible with the USB cable, phone in IP passthrough mode, and if you have installed Nokia Network Bridge from http://forum.nokia.com

For other phones, older or newer, there are no good solutions (besides the Bluetooth and gnubox routes, and even they are not that good).

Consider investing in a new phone with WLAN/Wi-Fi instead, and you won't have this problem.

Can you tell me how to connect my Nokia E51 to the internet via USB. I would appreciate that a lot. thnx
