Help pls. I've done the change product code bit, then got the NSU to download the update, but when it comes to installing it to the phone it says update failed after about 10 secs. i also tried with my firewall etc turned off.
Any ideas:con?

basically it does everything right up until the update and then says failed, do you want to try again, yes, same thing.
its an orange phone, but product code def changed.
the only weird thing is that the icon for nokia PC suite connectivity shows it as disconnected. it seems that NSU overrides the PC suite somehow.
I thought it might be PC suite as its the old version, tried to update but it crashed on 67%. Removed it and went with fresh install of new version, this got stuck at 10%. Task manager shows the CPU at 100% usage, is this the problem with this installation???

I had a similar problem. I removed all traces of Nokia software from my pc (edited the registry too) and installed the older 6.82 pcsuite, which worked just fine.
Also make sure the usb cable is plugged directly in to your computer; don't use a hub or anything as lots of people have trouble with them.
hooray, done it. i did a hard reset, reinstalled all nokia software (can't get the update of PC suite to work) then did update. all cool, so many thanks to all for your help.
I backed up to the memory card and had no problems restoring all data to phone afterwards.
Can't seem to find the internet phone some of you have been going on about :frown: oh well

I'd recommend Fring .. http://www.fring.com/ for the internet phone thing .. you'll also get MSN, Googletalk, Skype and now Twitter .. enjoy!😊
