Hi,
Does anyone know what the NSCs can do or if they are any good?
My 2nd Orange phone has just started crashing and continually restarting again (fine for 3 days) - the same as my first one. I know if i go to Orange they will just exchange it and the same will probably happen again.
I am in central London so there are loads of NSCs nearby and i just thought it might try going to one of them...??
Any ideas?

In my experience they are excellent. I see them like car mechanics where the service providers are like main dealerships. The NSC guys will crack it open, have a play and fix it if they can. It's like a challenge to them wheras the providers will just replace it. They can also upgrade the firmware for you.
Having said that, a replacement will definately resolve the issue if its a software/hardware fault so if thats what orange do, go for that.
Yeah but this is the second phone from Orange with the same problem...
Do the NSC charge?? Also how quickly do they do it - dont want to be without it for too long....
Thanks!
A Nokia service center will do warranty repairs without charge while the phone is still under warranty. Otherwise they'll charge you for their work and parts.
How long it takes depends on the fault, the repair queue, whether they have the parts you need. And if they don't have the parts, tools or skills to fix the problem your device has, then they might send it away to some other location. So, it can take from a few minutes to several weeks depending.
I went into the one on Oxford St on Friday. They said that they did not currently have the software for the N95 and would not have it for another 3 weeks...
Im not sure whether this suggests that they would try and upgrade the firmware...
