i am really upset why am i getting charges using internet. i use tools which searches for wlan network and it shows some available connections and from there i connect thru internet but why cingular charging me for using the internet, or they call it data package. i explained i didnt connect via their medianet on top of that i was browsing in an offline mode or without the sim card...

Thats impossible, if you used a WLAN, it has nothing to do with them, you must have accidentally used your sim.

after hours and hours of negotiations and arguments about the n95 wifi feature i have told them that i will not be held responsible for the whole amount of the charges. so i told them at the very least amount i would do is 25%. they finally gave up and i told them to do alot of research about n95. what i dont understand is were they able to detect if the browser was used even when i didnt put sim in it. so when i finally brought it back it registers to cingular that i have used it(browser)...like i said it was about 2.5 hours of arguments and negotiations to how am i getting charge on wlan connections and on top of it didnt have the sim card in it...weird really weird...

tools / settings / Connection / Packet Data .. is set to "when needed" and preferrably you have Access Point = "None"

if you really don't want to have anything running over your phone providers "access points" you could delete them I guess 😉

tools / settings / connection / access points .. delete the ones with the = style symbol .. ie anything that is using "packet data" as a transport.

Good luck!😊
