Text Message gets international dialing code

I have a problem with the N80. When I receive a text on the phone it puts the international dialing prefix (usually +44) in front of the number. The phone doesn't then recognise the number from my phone book so doesn't display a name just the number.

Does anyone know why this happens and crucially how to stop it?

Just check that you don't have the actual number stored under two different names in your phone book. If you do, it won't show the name from your phone book when someone calls or messages you.

yeah, it should show it if its in your phone regardless of it coming thru with the 44 prefix... as all number from sms come thru like that. (from the UK)

The only time you normally get just the number showing is if you have the number stored under different names as has been mentioned.
