for those of us in the USA it is our ONLY OPTION! it is not fair that you guys are concentrating on making all the good games for the 7650! dont give up on us, please!
Symbian Software developers! DONT GIVE UP ON 92x0!!!
not only that !we whp want full keybord and java suport and word etc cant move to 7650 so we keep the 9210 please do somthing for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i hate to see all new things for 7650 every dau and nothing for 9210!its so dificult to pport thnig fromm7650 ot 9210?
I share the concerns of the previous posts.
I remember some time ago, there was a topic on whether the 7650 would kill the 9210 and, if my memory serves me correctly, I argued that it wouldn't. However, I have noticed that the trickle of new software for the 9210 has now become a drip.
Don't get me wrong, the 9210 isn't dying by any means, but this dwindling supply of software is concerning - not for the Symbian platform but for the 92x0 device.
However, all is not lost. OPL has great potential as does VB (even if that latter option is a tad expen$ive). It's just that developers (who are business people at the end of the day) are showing greater support to a more marketable device. It really is a shame!
PLEASE! GET ME A GPRS ADAPTER FOR MY 9210!!!!!!!!!
id ont knwo guys i am thninking to move to something like xda it has lots of software and storage capabilites and a touch screen cause it is very dificlut to find new stuuf for 9210 nowdyas
I`ve read on another post that porting 7650 apps to 9210 it is not so hard :P
Technically porting is not too hard particularly for games that usually make little use of the UI components - the bit that differs between devices - which can render the port almost trivial. What is hard is the commercial decision. There are maybe upwards of 2 million 7650s in circulation and of the projected (guessed?) 20 million Symbian based smartphones that will sell this year most of which will be based on Series 60. Developers need to make a buck and the best way to do that is to target volume - in addition Series 60 phones are far more likely to be ending up in the hands of consumers who will play games - larger keyboarded devices are going to professional/business users who will generally not be such avid games player. So unfortunately the economics are against a large volume of games for the 92xx and its successors
I guess 75% of 9210 users are business related and this is also a reason why games are not so popular in the 9210 category.
hmm, I don't know about other game developers but I plan to support 92xx in my next game for sure and most probably for a long time..
So maybe you don't have to worry that much.. I think there will be a new game for 92xx from time to time 😊
I agree with you. Personally I've never thought of buying a 9210 for the games... :P
well we are not talking about games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!we are talking aobut software here😞

Some of the software that has been written for the 9210 is truly excellent! Ximplify's myList Pro is an outstanding utility as are so many others! It's just that the momentum has slowed a little and I don't see much chance of it picking up soon.
The 9210 is a powerful productivity tool as-is and I would not have a problem considering the 9290 if I was in a situation where I did not have a PDA/Smartphone at the moment. I would consider it also alongside some of the Palm options. While I have been tempted by Microsoft in the past (and indeed given in having owned two PocketPC devices), I feel that to do so now, after the disgraceful and cynical way which Microsoft has treated its customers and partners, would be a betrayal of what I consider important.
Don't be taken in by Microsoft hype, they just talk up their own mediocrity and call it innovation.
Something that I would like to see ported to the 9210 is miniGPS, so if PsiLoc are reading this........ hello!

Alright, but the software that has been studied for the 9210 is fine. I mean that there is a lot of choice for progs and different apps...The 7650 is a limited device...But this is a personal opinion... :P
As for the miniGPS - the port to 92xx is planned, however not very soon, since we still work on the final version of it and than have also the option of porting it to P800 in mind...
It's not that easy task for the application which uses the whole branch of UI controls, since their differ very much between those two devices - that's also a reason it will not come in a week...
xxxxxm thats great news!!!!!!!!!!i know that 7650 is a limitied device thats the bas!more software for a more limited device😞
😃
