I have to get this off my chest, i am really mad about this and would also like to warn other people who might end up in the same situation.
Last month after getting my N95 i thought i would test out the Nokia Map app on my N95. To get turn by turn navigation, you have to pay extra. The option for payment via the phone are by card or the software will send so premium rate SMS to pay for it via you bill, so i went for the SMS option.
The application then started sending some SMS's. However, after a minute or so it came back with the message "message sending failed", and thus the navigation option was not activated. I then gave up on it.
Then this month comes my phone bill and you will never guess what , there is about £10 worth of £1.50 text messages.
So i called O2. After about 40 minutes on their 0870 number i have been though 4 different departments, none of which could help or even really knew what i was talking about. Eventually i was told, "this is a third-party company that do this, you need to phone a company called Net Size UK Ltd, there is absolutely nothing we can do to help you".
Ok, so i call Net Size UK ltd (another 0870 number). After speaking to a couple of their departments (with people who take the 'i can't be arsed attitude' to a whole new level), they tell me that they deal with billing only, i need to talk a another company called Openbit. However, they only have a number in Finland.
I then found the Openbit website, click on support to find a lame FAQ which helpfully tells me, "If you have not been charged correctly in your phone bill, please contact your network operator.".
F......F......S.....!!!!!!!!!!
All i can say is that if anyone has this problem, forget ever getting a refund. It will probably cost you about the same amount in 0870 calls anyway.
Oh, and i have since used Nokia MAP's navigation and it's absolute terrible so don't bother full stop.
