E61 and TOMTOM6 Freeze

3 replies · 2,811 views · Started 21 May 2007

Hi to all,

i have a E61 Nokia nobrand with last V3.xx firmware.

I have installed on my device TOMTOM6 Navigator 6 and apparenty all work well.

But when during navigation if TOMTOM speak the E61 freeze during the speaking !!!

I have done all:

- Reformatting minisd (fat)
- Changing minisd (with a 512mb and/or 1gb)
- Reinstalling product with no other application
- Resetting device (hard and deep)

but this problem is persistent.
When the speaker announce a message (like turn left, turn right ecc...) during the navigation the device freeze during the time of speak. After speak all work ok.

The version of Navigator 6 is 6.020 and map 6.75.1409 all original.

Sorry for my english (i'm italian) and what's the problem ?

Thank to all!

What do you mean by freeze? Do you mean the position on the map does not change while TOMTOM gives verbal instructions? That would only last a few seconds and would seem quite normal to me. How long does the freeze take in your case?

I have the same system and never observed anything unusual or annoying.

Thank you for response.

In effect when TOMTOM gives verbal instructions my E61 the entire display freeze (map and position) for a few seconds, then all is ok.

This is normal ?

Thanks

I have checked with my Tomtom/e61. In fact, it does not seem to freeze, and certainly never for a few seconds. I have read that using a SD card with other applications/data on it can slow down the speed, but apparently you have already tested that with no success.

Sorry, I don't know what else you could try, except contacting TomTom Support on this. They used to be quite helpful in my case when I asked some details once, at least I got a response.

Good luck!
