The N95 has a Nokia manufactures warranty, so find the nearest service centre.

NCC engineers will still ask for original invoice or other proof of purchase.
thanks for reply people,
i am :con? again,
i do have manufactures warranty but i got no proof of purchase?
so am i f...... up or what??
thanks,

Just print out the confirmation email you got from ebay when you won the auction. that is proof enough that you bought the phone. go int you "My Ebay" page and look at the items you won, there are options to print reciept. If you used paypal then you are in better luck because the have a printable reciept there.
i did use paypal so i'll print it out and give it a go!!
thanks,

Please let us know if your PayPal receipt was accepted as Proof of purchase in an NCC repair store. 😉
will do,didnt had time to go yet. it will prob be saturday!
Lst time i went to a Nokai engineer, about 2-3 years ago, they never asked for POP. They just looked at the manufature date of the phone by typing a code in.
nokia service centers here in RP don't ask for receipts, they just check the imei and they would know if it's still under warranty, however they ask for proof of purchase if their system says it's over a year old and you tell them it isn't

I agree as above.
Whenever I've taken my phone into NSC they have never asked me for a receipt, I assume they checked the IMEI number and I've always only taken the phone back if it under a year old. I think you get a standard 12months guarantee with Nokia themselves.
hi again,
just to let you know people that i had no luck so far, carphone warehouse(metro centre) cant tuch it coz its not sold there(IMEI is not in their data base) and they said that they can "try" to fix it for 45(they r not sure is it possible to fix it,apparently they didnt try yet as they r excanging all phones with this fault).
orange cant excange it without original POP,paypal doesnt work!
i got one more chance in newcastle, thats only NSC apart fom carphone warehouse.
will let u know.

I dont know why Carphonewarehouse want to charge you for having it repaired, its still under the Nokia warranty. 😡
from my experience so far, CPW have no consistency. Some of their staff are excellent and really helpful - whilst some of them appear to have been gathered from the streets and not trained.
I didn't need proof of purchase when i went to Nokia service centre. They were fine, flashed it without asking any questions (even though they bricked it, so got CPW to replace it under warranty).
If buy something of ebay, a mate in the pub or anywhere - so long as you can prove you have the hardware warranty you can claim this from the vendor. In some cases - they (nokia) might be able to check the serial number and see the manufacture date and if its within range that might be proof enough. but if you don't have the receipt from the guy who bought it (eg, the original till receipt) then your going to be limited. Sadly a printout of the ebay auction won't count for anything.
