i brought the actisys act-ir220l/plus today. ive set up everything correctly but it still wont respond with my 7650. i went to their website www.actisys.com and read that it was incompatible with 7000 series nokias but its been working for my mate who also has a 7650 and the same adapter. we are both running windows 98.
could someone please help. thank you in advance.

u should try playing with the ir settings on your computer.
try changing the speed.
try instaliing the latest drivers..
still wont work 😞
Does your ir react to anything?
Your description of the problem should be a bit more specific.
If the Ir product is compatible with some nokia phones then it should work
with all since all are the same type.
But maybe you are trying to use some software that tries to communicate
with 7650 and those wont work except the Nokia PC suite that comes with
the phone.

i installed the adapter using the resident drivers in win98se as the manual suggests. ive installed pc suite. in my systray i have the ir icon blinking as it waiting for a device to come in range. when i enable ir on my 7650 and do the "line of sight", they dont respond. 😞
my friend did the same thing with his computer but he is running winxp. and hes is flawless.
i guess i am doomed 😞
