Converting 16:9 AVI to 4:3 MP4

I use Super to convert AVIs and it works really well. I would however like to chop the sides off the footage so that the phone will play using the whole screen but still stay in proportion.

Is this poss with Super? There seems to be loads of aspect options in the program but as yet I've not worked it out. The 4:3 option simply squashes the 16:9 into the 4:3 screen so is no good.

If its not poss, what other free apps can you recommend?

i don't remember exactly but u have to selec the litle c or something like that next to the fdshow filter option, ther u can set how many pixels will be croped.

it depends on source but about 80-90 pixels on each side will be right 😉
