I've a few questions concerning the N95 and Micro SD...
1. Is the N95 really limited to 2GB..?
2. Is there an easy way of telling fake Micro SD..?
3. I have 2 SanDisk Micro SD cards, a 1GB and a 2GB. The shop bought 1GB card works in my N95 and on my PC via the adapter. The 2GB ebay bought card works in my phone but neither my PC or laptop even see it. Any ideas? Could the 2GB card be a fake..?
I was trying to use SiSoft Sandra to establish the different data Tx/Rx rates between the cards and perhaps get an indication of whether to 2GB is legit or not but it don't even show up.

This is probably the most frequently asked question about the N95 right now. And Nokia and Sandisk have different opinions about it. One of the companies is truly amatuerish in giving their (potential) customers correct information. I'd venture it is Nokia that is an ass (when they say it is limited to 2 GB). But who knows for sure.... We'll know in a few weeks time anyway.
There have been postings on this site that the N95 will support 4GB and above ( with confirmation from Sandisk ). However, no one seems to be able to get their hands on one of these cards to test and confirm as yet.

What brand of MicroSD is it?
I bought a 2GB Sandisk from eBay that was shipped from China which worked on the PC but not on the phone. I contacted Sandisk support and they checked the serial number on the card and advised that it didnt match there system so it was a fake.
The real answer to this is that probably only Sandisk and Nokia know whether the N95 will support 4GB or not.
Unfortunately no one will really know until the 4GB cards are released and someone here is brave enough to buy and test one on their N95.

Sent the details of the card off to SanDisk along with some pictures and they said it was a fake. At the same time I bought another card reader for my PC. Now the 2Gb card can be read okay. However, when I run the transfer rate comparisson on SiSoft Sandra it only runs the 2Mb and 64Mb transfer test and misses out the 512b 32kb and 256kb tests. If I test my 1Gb card it runs all tests...?
I've just bought a 4GB from MobyMemory.com
If they say it'll work it will, link here:

Hey all,
Just a quick responce on the card working on phone but not PC. I Had the same prob with my 2GB Ultra II card. However, i have access to 2 comps with different card readers and the other reader works fine.
Its all down to the card reader supporting it.
Also re the 4GB new sandisk card, if you buy one i would suggest buying a supported card reader as there maybe a strong possibility your existing reader wont work because they are MicroSDHC see mobymemory.com for info.

Same here. Tried using another card reader I had in the house and worked fine on my PC. The one which did not work on my PC was bought off eBay. The one which did work was part of a genuine 2Gb SanDISK UltraII shrink-wrapped pack bought from a reputable supplier.
