I get this too from my Vista Ultimate x64 desktop, so you are not alone.
However, I have no problems using the built-in BT on my HP laptop running Vista x64 Business.

It's all to do with PC Suite 6.82 not being fully vista compatible. The software messes with the either the Microsoft BT stack or uses the manufacturers one by default which blanks out this option in the software. Toshiba is one that has particular problems (toshiba laptops), whereas others may work ok.

However the PC Suite has just been upgraded to 6.83 and is fully vista compatible and should allow correct BT stack use. Install this, then attempt a BT connect. :icon14:

I'm using v 6.83.14.1 on the desktop .... and it's not working
