Nokia Mailx (Push Email)

4 replies · 3,760 views · Started 24 May 2007

Seems like Nokia have released a push-email app - called Mailx ... showed up on my catalogs this afternoon.

Appears to use the built-in email program, and this 'add-on' does the push (or poll even) ...

Downside is that it costs money ... More info @ BITween

Haven't tested it yet - downloaded & installed though ...

Cheers

I tried out this program and it seems to work pretty good. I may purchase it when the trial expires but there is one thing that quirks me about it. It seems that after a email is pushed to the device, you get the sound notification but there is no visual notification. This means that if I don't hear the initial beep, I would have no way of knowing that I had a new email unless I went all the way to the email account manually. The built in email program at leasts says new message on the home screen. If anyone knows a way to enable this, please let me know!

I found exactly the same problem when using RoadSync. I get notification when syncing via POP using the standard email settings

I need some help too 😞

In the help file that somes with the program it tells me to make sure that I have changed the configuration of the email accounts to automatically change the connection, which is located in the roaming tab of my email account configuration (!?!?!) .... it goes on to say that this is under Tools, Control Panel, Messaging, (email account name), Roaming Tab. Set "Change Connection Automatically" to Yes ...

Sorry - but this has lost me .... I can't find that setting anywhere on my N95.

Has anyone found any decent support for this program ? Any forums etc ?

Cheers
