unable to send SMS - Nokia E61 — Nokia Eseries S60 3.0 phones (E50, E60, E62, E61, E61i, E70)

Hi,

Recently I acquired a Nokia E61 and since than I'm configuring its functionalities. Everything is fine, but, I cannot configure it to send SMS. Below, some information:

- I bought it directly by official provider operator (TIM BRASIL - GSM - using SIM card)
- I used auto-configuration (sent by sms) option to WAP and MMS available in operator website and Nokia website.
- It can receive SMS and send MMS
- It can send EMAIL (through a profimail software) and receive email
- I tried to send SMS using same SIM CARD in another NOKIA (it wasnt E61) and it works with sucess. I think is not a operator problem.
- I'm using last version of firmware available though "Nokia Software Updater"

So, somebody has any suggestion or had this problem ?

Complementing ,

When I try to send SMS I receive error message: "Unable to send message"

Format the phone with *#7370#, configure again to your network and try again.

how do u format the E61 phone with that # mentioned?

Same way: On the standby screen, where you'd dial a number to make a call, dial *#7370# instead. When prompted, enter the lock/security code (12345 by default, if you or anyone else hasn't changed it).
