I have recently just upgraded the version of my firmware on my Nokia N73. I have had my N73 since Christmas 06 and i love it! When i got it, it had the original Nokia firmware installed that comes with all new nokia's. I had no problem with shutting down my phone before i upgraded the firmware, it has only started after update :-S. When i turn it off the screen goes blank white/grey but then it takes for ever to turn off and ends up going into screen saver mode as if my phone was on! It seems to some how crash on shut down and the only way to turn it off is to take the back off and pull the battery out 😞

If any1 can help me or can tell me how to stop this plz post a comment 😊

Thnx

Since you dont have the last firmware version, just do the upgrade to last one: V. 3.0713.1.0.2

Thats really sounds like the problem i had with my 2nd (last) n73, thats what happen to mine, but with with mine , it turn off in my packet i drove me insane, it happen for a fews days and then it started getting worse, then i toke it nsc to see if they could fix it but they could't because it was liquid damaged, so then i had to get a new n73m get checked out hopefully u don't have too get a new phone.

Sorry to hear about it m8. My phone has stopped doing it now. I let my phone run completely dead so it had no charge, charged it until it was full and then had a few goes turning it on and off again. It might have happened in the first place because i only had half of my battery left ?!?!? When you are updating your firmware on your phone do you need to do it when you have 100% charge for sure or can you do it with any amount. And just 1 more thing when i go to update my firmware it says i have the latest version ... people have a newer build than me! Is there any other way that i can get the new version of the firmware???

Thnx to all the people who have gave me advice btw 😊
