Icons disappeared after firmware upgrade

3 replies · 2,269 views · Started 26 May 2007

I have upgraded my firmware from 10.0.018 to 11.0.026.
I have done restore of phone backup from my memory card. Even after that I am not able to see any icons for y-browser and icons for 3rd party applications. I have installed the software in my memory card.
Can you please suggest me how to get the icons back. Can I create them manually?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

If you go to the Application Manager in Tools, you may be able to re-install some of the apps. If not, reinstall them using PC Suite.

P.S. It's not advisable to restore a backup after a FW upgrade as it can delete or scramble some of the new functionality - e.g. VOIP .

Note to mods : -

Could you possibly sticky one of the (many) threads complaining about loss of X, Y and Z functions after FW updates because of restoration from memory cards - which is not intended for use with updates.
Newbies need to know that their phones are rendered new (and different) pieces of hardware after a FW update.
All progs and settings need to be reinstalled/configured after updating.
