I'm debating between the N73 and N95. I'd like to know how N73 owners find watching movies, podcasts, etc. This is one of my main reasons for wanting to upgrade. I'd love the N95 but it's so expensive, if the N73 will let me watch movies I think that can hold me over until N95 prices come down. I'm also interested in the camera quality, which is why I've narrowed it down to these two models.
Watching movies on N73 compared to N95
Well I don't own a N95 but the vid's played on the N73 is pretty good but if you are gonna use it purely for viewing vid's then I must point point out that anything over 15fps you might get a bit of slow down in fps. As for the camera quality, its pretty on top even when compared to the N95. Pictures taken with the N73 comes out repectable for a 3.2MP and its good enough for printing.

I've seen videos running on a small ipod (didn't watch the video, only saw a friend's for a few minutes) so I'm thinking if it's as good as the ipod then it's fine. I don't know what the frame rate is on the ipod. I assume converting all the movies to the appropriate format for the N73 is standard practice. I wouldn't try to watch divx movies on it.
I'm also debating on an SPV M650 / HTC 3300. Its camera is terrible but it has windows and is about the same price as the N73. That camera of the N73 keeps drawing me back in, it's comparable to my Canon point & shoot.
i've watched a couple of movies on my n73 and they look good but eats up alot of memory.. of course you need to learn first how to convert these videos to mp4 and prepare at least 400-500mb of space for a single movie with nice n73 quality..
Hi,
I've also been watching video on the N73, episodes of Battlestar galactica, great when I'm on the bus home from work. The episodes are about 120mb each, but with a 2gb sd-card that doens't hurt, at the moment got 7 episodes on my card and still enough room for my fotos and mp3 files.
If you encode the video's the right way you get great quality and relatively small files. Can't tell you anything about the N95, but i know it's screen is slightly bigger and even more equiped for Multimedia purposes. I also read that the battery is empty in no-time.
I'm very happy with the Battery for the N73, it was 3 days after i have charged it I watched an episode of 45min on the bus and when I got home the battery indicator still was full.
Hope you can do something with our information.

Sylvester & wapski:
Thanks for the confirmation that it's ok for watching videos and that the videos are of good quality. I don't mind converting as long as it's an easy drag & drop process (confirm?). Also I'm interested in watching podcasts, so I hope there is software for that, to download the videos and convert them. It'd be nice to have the podcasts ready & waiting so I just copy them to the phone.
I almost bought one last night but I'm going to be a bit more patient and see if I can get a good deal. Unfortunately the good deals are often the scams (on ebay) so it's not easy.
Thanks
Well there are several programs to convert video files, and also it depends on your initial file how the convertion reacts, especially with big files it can take a while to convert, depending on your processor. so while it is not difficult to convert it isn't exactly drag and drop, anyway there is enough information on the internet about it, you probably have seen the 'offcial video conversion' topic above this one
I got mine brand-new when I extended my mobile contract so can't tell you where to get good quality against fair price. good luck with that!
