N80 Camera trouble

6 replies · 2,321 views · Started 29 May 2007

Hey. First post on this site, been reading through for ages though.

i have an N80, flashed to latest internet edition firmware 4.0707.0.7.

The camera app starts, but the view from the camera does not appear straight away (most of the time).. it has a white screen for about 10 seconds and then the image will appear. The same is for apps that will use the camera, such as the barcode readers (kaywa and official nokia barcode reader). The secondary camera on the front works fine though.

It is even worse in Video Camera, as the image does not appear at all.

here is a similiar problem to mine - www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/57899/&highlight=camera+white

- except my camera does start up after a while. Sometimes it starts up instantly though, very odd.

I will try and post up a picture of the phone in this state. Any help would be muchly appreciated !!! 😊 :icon14:

There maybe some faulty in camera...Go NOKIA SERVICE CENTRE to fix it...cant b software error because u use barcode scanner...unless is the camera software error ,it still can be used in other programme

I get the white box over the screen for a split second...

Can you try it with a standard nokia theme... does that make any difference?

changing the theme makes a little bit of difference to the image mode... but nothing comes up when trying to go into video mode.

so weird. reformatting does nothing either.
maybe its a hardware problem?

sorted. took it to my local nokia service center and they replaced the camera module. free of charge too :icon14: 🙄
