5.0616.2.0.3 and Nokia pc suite is telling me I should update the phone so I downloaded the update firmware 5.0705.3.0.1 and when I try to update the phone it works fine until it disconnects. Then the update software tells me to take the battery out put it back in plug it in to charge and then turn it on and click "retry" Then it tries again to update it but again the same things.
Any ideas what it could be how can I update the phone when it keeps doing this?

On updating to 5.0638 I got a "Connection lost" message, but after removing battery, boot up the phone and connecting it back it worked. Connect the phone to USB before powering on again.
Tried that and it did not work... The phone seems to lock up. I have no idea what would cause that.
What profile are you using? Is the SIM card inserted? Try also to remove the MMC.
I am using the general profile with the MMC already removed and the SIM card is in.
Hm... have you tried *#0000# to see if the firmware was changed or not? If the connection breaks at about 80%, then the new firmware should've been already installed.
Yeah it is still 5.0616.2.0.3 maybe I should just stick with this instead of the newer version.

Can you tell if it works to restore the backup made before upgrade?
Yeah Even I downloaded that and installed it but still its not updating. it just stops when the bar is at like 5% (guessing). I leave it for an hour just to see if its going slow but nothing happens. Maybe its this computer... I never thought of that... ok I am going to try updating it with another one of my computers. Will let you know how it goes.

Well I used my laptop to update it and it worked. I guess I have a program that is conflicting with the Nokia software update program on my other computer. If at first it does not work. Try another source.
