Calling developers out there! Any chance of authoring a little program which encrypts and decrypts files on the Nokia communicator on the fly? Encryption level doesnt need to beat the CIA, just nosey family, friends and workmates! Something to give password protection to Word and sheet files - not using OPL (quite slow on 9210 unfortunately). I'm sure 9210 customers will be happy to pay shareware price for their privicy
File Encryption on Communicator?
I've found Freecrypt to be basic, but very good -> http//www.freepoc.org/FreeCrypt.htm
Thanks for the tip. It's a cool program - good security and stable, but it's a bit slow for me. I'm looking into DataSafe, as it is instantanious snag is you have to enter data within the program rather than encrypt a standard file like Symbian Word - oh well... maybe Epocware will give Powerdata that extra punch and provide an extra 'Notes' field to enter text/data which isnt so limited? That possibility would add a lot more possibility to their program!
F-Secure is also making Filecrypt ,but dont know if it's available yet..

Thanks, TANKERx and JeP!
(PS Powerdata does have password protection and there is a 'Memo' field which unlike the 'Note' field isn't limited to 255 characters.)
SmallBase has already a powerfull encryption module and supports memo fields type ...
