music player question

I am using a converter called switch to transfer my mp3 files to aac to save space.

The conversion all works fine and i save them onto a folder i have created on my desktop and then name the folder with the hame of the artist.

The problem is when i drag and drop the folder onto my memory card using the 'file manager' they appear on the phone fine and work fine but the phone dosent list them correctly.

i.e under artist it shows as unknown. I have to then hightlight a track and then input the details on the handset for it to then list them correctly.

why is that?

Tags are where information about track name, artist, album etc are held within the music file. If you click on a file on your PC and select edit tags, or something similar, it will show this embedded info. I woould think that on your files this info is wrong/missing, and that is why it is wrong on the N95 after you copy it across.

I hope people realise that converting a lossy format to an other lossy format (.e. MP3 -> AAC) seriously degrades sound quality.
