Phone not recognising music folders transfsed using mass storage

I've been on holiday this week and only just realised that even after a library refresh in the music player some albums are not showing. I had put them on the phone using mass storage instead of my card reader.

In file explorer they don't show either.

When i connected to the laptop as mass storage i could see the folders. I could get the phone to see the folders by creating a new folder and copying the music from the troublesome folder into it. So,it appears to be the folder that is the problem and not the mp3s.

Is this a known problem and is the only way round it to use a card reader?

Thanks.

Is the first time I hear that. Maybe was only that specific folder... But you already have a solution.

It was more than one folder,it appeared to be all the ones i'd added just before going away. I know that I have a solution but sometimes it's more convenient just to connect the phone than having to fiddle with the memory card-although I know the transfser rate is better using a card reader.

Update : It turns out it's doing the same thing even when I use my card reader now...

But, it will work when in sync mode using the Nokia browser.

It will also work using mass storage if I create a new folder on the PC with the same name as the folder that does work and the copy that over with the music in it....

Very odd.
