Phone will not recognise some folders which are copied from my PC

I did post a thread on this but I think I did so too early, without doing some proper testing. I can now state the behaviour I'm seeing accurately.

Certain folders (I've so far only tried ones which contain music) will not appear on the phone when copied from my PC to the memory card by either mass storage or a card reader. When I say not appear I mean the music player can not see them and neither can the phones file explorer.

However, if I copy the folders from my PC to my phone using the Nokia Browser then everything works fine.

If I copy the contents of one of the folders that displays this behaviour to a freshly created folder and then copy that across then everything is fine so its not the contents of the folder that is the problem.

At first I thought this was to do with album art so I deleted the art and hidden system files from one of the folders but it still wont display on the phone.

Plus, its not all folders, just some.

Its also not just my phone I brought one the troublesome folders to work and a colleague tried on his N95 again, it was invisible to the phone.

Im really confused Id like to be able to use my card reader to copy music because its much faster than the Nokia Browser.

Any ideas or suggestions would be really welcome!

Many thanks in advance. 😊
