Unable to make a call!?

Hi

This thing usully happens when it's cold and when I'm outside! When I try to make a call I'm just unable to do it and on PDA display the massege displays "Network temporary unavelible, try again immediatly". I'm still unable to make a call. When I restart my communicator ( take of the battery and put it back), phone works normly!? So, probablly is not the network!

Does anybody knows what is the solution of this problem??

thanx

Well, try to be 100% sure that it is not the network. I've never heard of a problem like this but from my opinion it shold be a network problem.

It says in my 9210 manual that the battery should be used in temperatures between +15 and +25 celsius. In below 0 degrees the battery may not work properly.

Well, here in Finland it has been around -20 degrees for weeks now and I have used my phone outdoors without any problems, but you never know. Humidity may play a role too.

Well I'm pretty sure that isn't the network, because when I'm indoor, very near were this problems happened at the outside, and I restartet everithing is OK, and wehen this problem is happening the signal is OK. I usully switch off the phone, and turn it on, and the network is then unavelible!! The only thing that helps is restarting my 9210, but only in warm places. And the battery is allways showing that is full??

This is very unconvinient for me, because I'm often outside? And working range betwen +15 and +25, this means you can't use your communicator in whole Europe for about 6 months??

Culd be a OS problem? Should I format the communicator???

Thanx

Yeah I know, I thought it was a joke when I first read the temperature limits! :x But Mr and Mrs Nokia must be very aware of the climate in Finland and elsewhere in Europe, so it cannot be taken literally.

I guess it is just the conditions they take full responsibility of: they cannot be sued within those limits. Other than that you're on your own :-?

Hi

I just made a silly test a few minutes ago! Last night I deleted temporary files on my nokia (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+I), and this morrning I left it on my window (-6 degree C) for about 45 minutes. And the thing works!!!!??? The phone LCD was so slow, and the phone was so cold, cause of cold outside, but the phone worked!

Maybe this was the problem, or maybe not. Will' see.

Thanx, Igor

Probably cold has played an important role...I don't think you should format. Once I used to take my old cell phones back with me when skiing and I noticed after a while that the display was really slow! It was the cold temperature...after 20 minutes in a warm place everything turned to normal! 😉

Well I formatted my 9210, installed everything again (All_data_Nokia....v4.13), but the problem is still here. The cold isn't the cause, now I'm sure that!

I noticed that this problem happense in certin parts of town (never in my neighbourhood). Maybe this happense when the network transmiters are changeing?? The 9210 even restarts it self. And when I turn the phone (in that area) on the phone display two little squares apear. Than everything comes to normal!!

I really don't understand this voodoo stuff. I called the service, thay don't now what is the problem thay told to leave it for few days, so they can figure it out!?

BUT I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY NOKIA FOR FEW DAYS!!

any suggestion's
