I am not able to connect using GPRS with my new N95. I took the phone to my carrier (Entel Movil Bolivia) and they set it up. When I try to connect using Browser, I get the following message :
Internet:
Unable to connect
Check connection settings.
(-3002)
The settings are correct and the service working (I took my sim card and tried it with my old 7610 and GPRS worked smoothly), so the problem is some setting in the phone that I cant identify, nor can my carrier, since my N95 is the first in Bolivia.
My phone:
Os. 11.0.026 (updated 6-3-07)
I am using wlan at home to navigate, but cant use GPRS at all. It has never worked since it arrived a week ago.
Check in Settings > Connection > Packet Data > .....There are three options that you will need to verify. Packet Data connection > When needed, Access Point > You'll need to check with your provider what this is, High speed packet access > Enabled (if your provider offers this).
Thank you for your answer. We already (me and the carrier guy) went trough all what you pointed out, but I still have the same error 3002 that according to Symbian is KErrExitModemError -3002 "Problem communicating with Internet services modem.
I did not want to change my phone code, but for now is my only way out. Change the code to Europe 1 and try it again from the very start. I even look for help in Nokia discussions with no luck. I only found a dude from Mauritania with the same problem. The only thing we have in common is living in a third world country. The answer of Nokia Latinamerica is not even worth to mention.
Hope someone can help me:frown:
I think from your description the problem is at the service provider end.
I'm picking they haven't set anything up to provide your phone with any auth'ing and therefore you're not ever going to get routed traffic through that service.
I suggest you find another phone using their GPRS service - and as a test .. use that phone's SIM card. If it works I'm right, if not then sorry but no harm done.
Good Luck!😊
