Nokia N95 02 Firmware update (no update available?)

7 replies · 8,069 views · Started 06 June 2007

Hi,

I recently purchased an N95 from o2, it has the product code 0548021

Im trying to update to the latest firmware released by Nokia, but when i use their update software it says no updates available, iv been doing some reading and it seems that i have to debrand my phone using a different product code, then i will be able to download the updates.

Does anybody have a guide or instructions on how this is done?

Does it maybe already have the 11.something firmware? Press *#0000# to see the firmware version.

Regards,
PM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN9eRlddfH0 has NSS video and text instructions and links to all the software you'll need.

NB the recommendation is to RESET your phone BEFORE applying the firmware upgrade.

Good Luck!😊

Managed to change the product code and download the latest firmware...

Quick question...

do i need to change my product code back to the original code? or can i leave it at

0536062 - EURO1 Plum?

AFTER you've done the upgrade.

hmm, ever since updating the firmware, it works fine but i have a really weak signal/no signal in somewhere where it is usually strong!

iv tried changing the product code back to my original one using the NSS application, but i get the following message when clicking "Scan" in NSS..

"Scan for product! Error!"

the phone is all connected and i done exactly as i did when i changed the product code to EURO1

have i broke my phone :con?

Does it not effect waranty when you change the code though? I'd like to update mine also as it's on 10.0.018 and there's no news on when o2 intend to update it. God knows why o2 bothered with branding anyway, there's very little on the phone to differentiate it, other than the fact it can't be updated conventionally.
