Playing MP4's on my N73

I have just got a Nokia N73, I transferred some of the files over from my old phone and from my boyfriends phone and the phone says it's unable to play them.

I'm guessing from reading other posts this is due to the N73 only being set up to play 3Gp files and the files i'm trying to play are MP4's.

In that case is there any software I can put on my phone so I can play MP4's?

I don't want to have to convert every file that my friends and boyfriend send me before I can play it :frown:

n73 does play mp4 tho. Maybe the file is corrupted upon transfering. To check if it does corrupts it, try sending the video to ur phone and then send it back to him and try to play it. If it does not play then im right. If it does then hmmm...maybe mp4 codecs no?

Wat model is your old phone?

I had an 6230 and I transferd all my music files via the pc, so connected my 6230 to my computer, downloaded all files. Then disconnected the 6230 and connected the N73 to my pc and transfered all files that i wanted to my N73, works like a charm.

Also some phones have crypted the system so it corrupts music files when you try to send them, so you are left with a useless file.

good luck! sylvester

I have tried 2 different MP4 Files and Nokia has stated it doesn't play MP4's as standard. Tried installing DivX mobile S60 3rd edition to see if that would be any good but it says the certificate has expired.

to sylvester - my old phone is a 6280, and i've also tried to play a file from an n93.
