Firstly hi! I've been reading the site with interest over the last few days and now that my new N95 has arrived have decided to join the community, something tells me I'm going to need it 🙄
Anyway, I'm toying with the idea of de-branding my T-Mobile (UK) handset and have found some very good tutorials but am a little unsure as to which Nokia product code would be best to use? Does it matter? And can I change it back to the original code after de-branding?
Why do you want to do this?
Well from what I understand de-branded handsets are a lot more functional, not to mention faster than those with branded firmware. I've also noticed a lot of comments regarding networks restricting the handset's features i.e. web browsers through branded firmware.
Please correct me if I'm wrong?!?!
You're right, unbranded is the way to go :icon14: The only obvious caveat is that you will need to revert back to operator specific if you send it in for warranty repair.
The code to use for N95 (UK/EURO1) is 0536062.
Well after gathering up enough courage to meddle with my new investment, and arming myself with a half-decent guide I successfully debranded my handset last night, and it seems to have worked a treat 😃
