(Haven't filed this more specifically because this should help a few different phones)
I've spent my weekend (haven't had a spare one since iTunes Plus launched) doing my best to fix the connection between my Nokia E61 and iTunes Plus. And I think I've reached the holy grail - one file iTunes and Nokia, lossless and preserved metadata.
I'm not going to go through the whole shebang here, just want to make people aware that there is a solution. I've got a fixer tool on my blog that firstly makes the file playable in Music Player (not just Real Player) without re-wrapping it (or transcoding as Nokia Media Transfer for Mac does).
Then I've come up with a way of getting some of the metadata to show in both iTunes and Music Player. Now I know different Nokias seems to support different metadata (do they? I've only got an E61 to test with but I know some show album art in reviews - is that MP3 only?) so that part is less tested, but also discussed on my blog.
Trying to help people out here now that I've got it working for me - the link to my blog is in my profile (or put 'techtransit itunes' into google - top hit)
Hope this helps more than just me,
Joshua
