Hi,
I wanted to have clarity on some questions:
1. There is an option in 'Contacts' application on phone to create a new database on Memory Card.
Incase i create this database, will it sync with my mac as in case of normal database on phone memory?
2. Same Question as above for calendar app?
3. Is their a way to sync time with Mac during each sync?
Any info in this regard will be higly appreciated 😊
Thanks.

I am fairly new on Nokia 9300 (yours has Wifi, mine doesn't) but let me try.

You should be able to sync your contacts regardless of where they are stored but you should of course test first. When you create new Database on memory card, your phones default database becomes it yes?

Same answer for Calendar, you should really test and backup first.

The Sync question is easy. Unlike Series 60, there is no "host application" installed on S80 (9300). I don't think the sync protocol uses a "Time" argument. You should be able to network sync your phone. Just check manual and check the "Automatic Time Update". When you enable automatic time update and browse to any site, your phone should contact a NTP server or your cell provider (not sure) and sync your time. It should be exactly same with your Mac when it is done that way.

Hi all,

I have developed a mobile application using j2me wireless toolkit. I import .jar file into nokia 9300i mobile device through USB cable. But, here i am not able to access my tomcat server and other user-interfaces and ms-access database.

If i start to access the .jar file from mobile, it shows only first screen that is user-id and pwd. After i gave the user-id and pwd. It shows the following error

java.io.IOException: SymbianOS error = -5120: Could not find the Internet Server.

My mobile has GPRS connection and all the facilities. Could anybody please help me what are the settings i should update on my mobile and pc. I want to access the tomcat server through USB cable from my mobile phone.

Thanks in advance.

Naren

I am not a developer of any kind but as a user, I may have an idea why it happens.

For J2ME, Symbian devices try the FIRST listed Internet profile and doesn't even try others. Is the first (the number 1 on list) internet profile on device a true Internet capable one?

I had a similar problem with J2ME S80 program so I thought I better share this tip.

Another thing: You _must_ upgrade to latest firmware on 9300 to get a good J2ME experience. The J2ME on 9300 outdated firmware is so buggy that one advanced developer said "I can't believe they shipped it with such bugs".
