Can u get a carger via usb that plugs into ur pc? cuz im at work alot of times, i dont bring my charger in, and id rather use a usb cable as i can use it for other stuff
the thing is i havnt heard of it ever been made?? i know ipods etc can be charged using a usb wire via a pc 😮 😮
Yep. Nokia has USB chargers
Nokia CA100 cable
the device 'Nokia Charger via USB port CA-100' is for charging as you have told me, can it be used for transferring data aswell??
😊 😊
No, power only.
I've got a 3rd party charger like this and it only works sometimes - often I get a "not charging" message. When it does work I've never seen it charge the phone so you get the "battery full" message.
My guess is that the current in USB isn't enough for a reliable charge.
Having said that, it works on my collegues' N95 for some reason, although again, he's never seen the "battery full" message.
No, it's a bog standard 2mm charging pin, not for the mini USB port on the N95, from which you cannot charge.
cheers all, i i wil just take my charger to work, simple lol
The power port for the n95 needs at least 800Mah from or near flat. Some manufacturers stick to the USB spec of 500Mah min and so this will not charge from flat. If you keep the battery topped up you should get the USB port charging OK but the circuitry will be in constant charge and discharge at this lower power level and so battery full will only rarely be achieved as you will be using what you draw to power the phone. My laptop happily charges to full but not all do!
Pa49 cheers for that, i do want a usb charger, where did u get yours from? is it as simple as plug and charge or does come with an installation cd? an how much are they roughly
I have a USB wall charger and a USB car charger (both Belkin) which I think I got from Maplin some time ago! I also have a combined USB sync and 2mm power cable to keep things tidy! All PnP no install needed.
I can thoroughly recommend this USB charge + sync cable
Pics and details
cheers agen i shall explore in my lunch break, is there any girls that own a n95 cuz i think its a mans phone 😊 😊

USB wall charger? I thought the N95 can't charge though USB at the phone end?
Also, what you say about the USB port not charging from empty seems to fit in with the issues I've had with mine.
Are there any problems with charging the phone (via usb cable, or wall charger) with the phone turned on and connected to the computer?:con?
I normally turn my phone off to charge it up.

bump, just in case anybody can answer this question.
I'm not aware of any problems, but like you, I switch the phone off to charge it. The N95 seems to charge in under 70 minutes, so it's not long to wait. I suspect I've conditioned the battery by fully charging it each time with the phone off, although I can't prove that.

Lithium ion and Lithiom polymer batteries don't really need conditioning. Their charging circuits do it for you and there should be no memory effect.
They do seem to improve over the first few weeks of use (the more you use them the better they get!
There is no advantage in turning the phone off for charging.
Wherever I am I keep the phone on charge whenever possible (in the car or working on my laptop) which means I don't get low battery problems cos they don't particularly like being drained!😉
