new N95 and questions...battery/maps

Greetings, I just bought a N95, and there are things I love about the phone. But, I noted yesterday that I only got around 11 hrs of standby time and the power bar was very very low. I did not make a call or day long, never used the maps, or wifi. I suppose if I had the phone would have been dead by the end of the day! Not good.

I am located at the moment in Guam. I did not anticipate map coverage here. But when I do got to maps function it in fact locates a small island ( yep Guam) from the turning world and locates me on the correct side of Guam.

Now, I am heading to Singapore, Aust, and before long the USA. Question: Am I to assume that when I get to these locations such as Singapore the phone will also down load local maps for the area/city via wifi for free? Or do I need to buy more maps? I know I can update for a fee for voice map directions and I plan on doing this when I arrive in the states. ( I will be using T-mobile in the US via prepaid card).

The good news is that I took a photo in Guam and emailed it to my wife in the US via the phone wifi connection. She tells me it is by far the best photo she has seen via email. Very clear was her words.

Now, if I can know more about the very large power usage of the phone, and what to anticipate for maps in various countries that would be great!

I do live this phone... I read the reports and some said the phone was slow, red dots, freeze up etc.. I have found nothing to complain about other than the power usage..... and that is a pain!!!!

Overall, I'd give this phone 4 stars out of 5.

Battery life is a well know weak point of N95... is like that. You can only look if it have some background open application, and close it. If is not the case, you cant do a lot more... only use a better battery phone, like E61i.
