automatic email retrieval in E61

2 replies · 4,586 views · Started 15 June 2007

Hi,
I have set up my gmail account in e61 in the built in nokia email application. I can connect and get my eamils just fine.
I have also set up automatic retrival, every 30 minute, every day, every hour, etc. A couple of times I got the confirmation when I got a new email but the phone doesn't seem to check for emails any more. But if I go to the email application and press connect it will get them.

Can anyone please explain why this might be? What am I possibly doing wrong?
I exit the email application after I am done with it.
Do I have to leave the email application open all the time for it to get the emails?

Thanks

ALi

There are a number of bugs related to auto retrieval.

1) sometimes the Inbox preview on active standby becomes "stuck" and does not update itself. You'll continue to get alerts when new mail arrive, but the preview keeps displaying the old mail

2) most of the time the message app does not auto disconnect after auto-retrieve. I set my accounts to retrieve mail every hour, sometimes it will auto disconnect after checking mail, but most of the time it keeps the connection open

3) and the most brain dead bug of all, auto retrieve gets disabled whenever there are any problems

so it's not just me then...
interesting... could be worse I guess 😊
I was on sony ericsson k 600 for a year and am so happy to be back on Nokia to be honest... and am loving the e61
