Has anyone found a way of running maps with the slider shut ! and the backlight on !

It is possible to have the backlight on in settings ,but this is with the slider open.

Thanks

Hi

"Always on" keeps the backlight on for me, even with the slider closed.

However, I'm running the newer version of Maps (which should be available for download again soon), so maybe it's a feature that's only present in the new version.

BTW, you're posting in the wrong forum. The N95 is an S60 device. You'll find it has its own forum under "Series 60".

Cheers

Backlight setting or not. Either way you should not run maps with the slider shut since the GPS itself is located in the bottom of the phone. Running it with slider shut will prevent (or at least significantly reduce) the GPS ability to get a satellite fix/lock.
It should be run with slider open and preferrably in a 45 degree angle to the sky.
