GPS egypt

just wait,some people had to wait up to 10-15 mins,if u got 4 transparent bars just wait bit longer it should get the lock.

Tired the GPS on my N95 whilst on holiday in Sharm El Sheikh a couple of weeks ago - the maps in the built-in application are pretty poor in Egypt (at least in that area). As stated elsewere, the internal GPS can take 5-10mins to sync. sufficiently 😞

First time start-up/use of GPS may take a looong time (cold start), even up to 1h before getting a lock (black bars = lock). Mine used some 30 minutes the first time but since then it normally takes everything from 1-5 minutes to get lock (in open areas 1-2 min. In car 2-5 min).

I am from Egypt too, the problem is the tall and dense concrete buildings, they make hard sometimes even imposible in dense areas to get a lock. When I was in 6th of october city (in Hilton Golf Resort) I got a lock in less that 1 min. But in mid Cairo or Alexandria I never got it to work.
